Child safety standards
Our standard
Pema has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or any sexualisation of minors. Such content and behaviour are prohibited and result in an immediate ban.
How we keep minors off Pema
- Every account holder confirms they are 18 or older before entering any profile details.
- The server refuses profiles below the legal marriage age (21 for men, 18 for women).
- A community organiser verifies every profile, including the candidate's age, before anyone can see it.
- Photos are private and visible only to verified members of the same community.
How to report
- In the app: open the profile or message and choose Report. Organisers review reports within 48 hours.
- By email: pemaliveofficial@gmail.com, monitored by the Pema trust and safety team.
What we do
- Remove the content and ban the account; the phone number cannot sign up again.
- Preserve evidence as required and report CSAM to the relevant authorities in India, including the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in), and comply with applicable law.
